Who We Are

Foundation House was founded in 2002 in Portland, Maine.

The inspiration for this recovery initiative originated from a childhood relationship between two best friends from New York City - Patrick Babcock (Executive Director, Foundation House) and Peter Kellerman (Partner, Cantor Fitzgerald).

Peter Kellerman died in the tragic events of 9-11 while working in The World Trade Center. To describe Peter, one would have to look no further than the expression "Heart of Gold". Immediately after hearing about the passing of his best friend from childhood/High School, Mr. Babcock departed from the media industry to begin this Sober House venture. Shortly thereafter, PK Holdings Inc. (DBA "Foundation House") was born. PK Holdings is an effort to carry on Peter's name, and Foundation House is the spiritual beginning of that process.

Foundation House adheres to a phrase commonly applied to recovery from chemical dependency - "You can't keep it unless you give it away".

Foundation House is Mr. Babcock's desire to share his own continued recovery from alcohol/chemical dependency (13+ years), and Peter's 'heart of gold', with those people in the greater Portland, Maine area who are also seeking a way to live life clean and sober.

A portion of the proceeds from Foundation House are applied to annual contributions made to the "PR Kellerman Foundation". The PR Kellerman Foundation is a non-profit group that helps fund the musical education for children in the Berkshire, MA, area - children who otherwise would be unable to afford such lessons and instruments.

PETER...THANK YOU, YOU WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN.
