Alcohol and Drug Treatment Programs provide the best start for recovery, but what comes next? Foundation House provides a dignified bridge between treatment and living life clean and sober. We don’t just teach how to “get sober”, rather we teach how to “stay sober” and recover.
Foundation House emphasizes structure for you in early recovery. Standards help build
self-confidence and place accountability on those aspects of life that help you stay
Clean & Sober.
Foundation House homes are fully furnished, the environment is family oriented and our focus, using life skills training, is on helping the individual build a strong foundation for their recovery … hence our name.
When you come to Foundation House, you will be warmly welcomed
by staff and residents. You will attend regular outside 12-step meetings, inside house meetings and process groups, and choose to either work, attend school, volunteer, or participate in an intensive outpatient program during the day. Individual and group weekly sessions with a LADC and/or a psychiatrist is also an option.
In this family style living you will share common dining, family,
and living rooms. As a resident you will cook for yourself and share in
House chores. Our Program Director is on site each day to manage
the process, and each Foundation House Home has a manager who lives in the house, working with the Program Director to help facilitate a smooth transition for the new residents. Both the Program Director and House Managers work to maintain a safe, supportive and confidential environment that is focused on recovery for you.
Life can be challenging in early recovery. Foundation House understands, we've been there
too. Let us provide the best environment for you to learn how to live "Clean & Sober".
Our homes are bright, affordable, clean and committed to your Recovery. Residents lead by
example and practice change in a warm, caring community.
Perhaps this poem sums up our approach best ...
"Go With Muddy Feet"
- Nanao Sakaki
"When you hear dirty story,
Wash your ears.
When you see ugly stuff,
Wash your eyes.
When you get bad thoughts,
Wash your mind.
And keep your feet muddy."
